A new drama has joined the weekend ratings battle!
On December 21, Channel A’s new historical youth romance “Check in Hanyang” premiered to a promising start. According to Nielsen Korea, the first episode of “Check in Hanyang” scored an average nationwide rating of 1.8 percent—more than double the premiere rating earned by its predecessor “Marry YOU” (the drama that previously occupied its time slot).
Meanwhile, over in the public broadcast network realm, MBC’s “When the Phone Rings” achieved the highest viewership ratings of its run to date. The latest episode of the hit romance thriller scored an average nationwide rating of 7.0 percent, marking a new all-time high for the drama.
SBS’s “The Fiery Priest 2,” which usually airs in the same time slot as “When the Phone Rings,” did not air a new episode last night due to the 2024 SBS Drama Awards.
JTBC’s “The Tale of Lady Ok” took first place in its time slot across all channels with its fifth episode, which earned a nationwide average of 7.9 percent.
tvN’s “Love Your Enemy” kicked off the final two weeks of its run on an average nationwide rating of 4.3 percent.
Finally, KBS 2TV’s “Iron Family” defended its title as the most-watched show of Saturday with an average nationwide rating of 16.0 percent.
