The World Series of Poker (WSOP) has officially announced its 56th annual series, which will take place from 27 May to 16 July 2025 at Horseshoe Las Vegas and Paris Las Vegas, marking a triumphant return to the Strip. The 2025 WSOP promises to uphold its legacy as the pinnacle of poker tournaments, uniting players worldwide for weeks of intense competition, culminating in the prestigious 2 July Main Event.
WSOP Will Build upon Its Success
The Main Event Final Table will take place on 15 and 16 July at the Horseshoe Events Center. This marquee event has cemented its status as poker’s ultimate showdown, regularly drawing record-breaking attendance. In 2024, the WSOP Main Event set a new benchmark with 229,553 participants and an impressive $438 million in prize money awarded across all events.
While the complete schedule will become public in early 2025, WSOP has confirmed the return of some fan-favorite events. These include Mystery Millions, Millionaire Maker, and the Senior’s Championship. WSOP CEO Ty Stewart hinted an even grander spectacle was in the making, noting that 2025’s event would continue to iterate on past successes.
“Each year allows us to refine further and improve the WSOP offering. Expect the biggest poker events on the planet, the best action, and the most intense competition.”
Ty Stewart, WSOP CEO
WSOP again stands ready to welcome tens of thousands of enthusiasts, giving them a unique chance to experience the magic of poker. 2025’s event will include exciting new formats designed to cater to seasoned players and beginners alike. Such an approach ensures that fans of all skill levels can remain engaged and entertained.
2025’s Event Will Feature Significant Improvements
To make the series more accessible, Caesars Entertainment properties in Las Vegas will offer reduced room rates with promo codes available for players. WSOP is also ramping up its social media presence, engaging fans with regular updates, player stories, and event highlights. These efforts aim to foster a sense of community and allow promising new stars to take center stage.
“Building on last year’s triumphs and familiar faces winning WSOP bracelets, we are excited to see who will expand their legacy or become a new legend.”
Jack Effel, Caesars Entertainment senior VP of Poker Operations and WSOP
WSOP is taking a bold step to preserve the integrity of live poker with its recently updated rules. Rule 63b is an entirely new addition that takes a more aggressive stance regarding electronic assistance and coaching during tournament gameplay. This update answers the controversy created by the 2024 WSOP Main Event when Jonathan Tamayo’s $10 million victory faced allegations of electronic assistance.
With over $4 billion in prize money awarded since its inception in 1970, the WSOP remains the standard for poker tournaments worldwide. The 2025 series is no exception, with unrivaled excitement, competition, and the opportunity to seal a place in poker history. To poker enthusiasts, all roads lead to Las Vegas next summer.
