One of Xbox’s big releases leading into 2025 is the action-adventure title South of Midnight. While we don’t have a solid launch date just yet, it seems the Canadian developer Compulsion Games is slowly sharing more teasers of what exactly you can expect.

The latest sneak peek comes via the company’s official social media account – showing off what appears to be a boss-like encounter. Here are the official words and you can see the full video in motion in the post below:

“Two-Toed Tom wasn’t always the terrifying giant that the people of Prospero knew and feared. He started out as a tiny little thing, raised by Farmer Swopes, a cruel man who starved his animals for entertainment and profit. But Swopes’ cruelty became his own undoing: when Tom was finally freed from his captor, he did everything in his power to ensure he’d never go hungry again.”

South of Midnight was originally revealed in June last year and is described as being set in a “magic realist version of American South”. Compulsion Games is the developer behind previous releases like Contrast and We Happy Few, and its new release will be a “day one” Game Pass title.

There have been rumours recently about South of Midnight potentially releasing on Xbox Series X|S in the earlier half of 2025.

What do you think of this latest footage of this upcoming release? Will you be checking it out when it does arrive? Let us know in the comments.
