After the first real exposure of Xiaomi YU7, more spy photos of the car have been leaked online, with one standard version model being captured by netizens.
From the photos, it can be seen that the front door of this YU7 vehicle is labeled with “029”, indicating that it may be a vehicle used by the factory for testing. It is worth noting that the car is not equipped with lidar, suggesting that it will adopt an intelligent driving solution based on pure visual perception and should be a standard version.
In terms of exterior design, both the low-end and high-end versions of YU7 maintain a consistent overall style, continuing the family’s design language. In the front part, the iconic cross-shaped daytime running lights are embedded in the headlight cavity, making them highly recognizable. Looking at the rear of the car, YU7 retains similar Saturn ring-style LED taillights as SU7 but with adjustments to better suit SUV characteristics.
At the same time, this exposure also shows for first time how YU7’s brake lights look when lit up; you can see that its tail light design is relatively slim.
According to the previous declaration information, YU7 is positioned as a mid-to-large-sized SUV, with body dimensions of 4999/1996/1600 millimeters in length, width, and height respectively, and a wheelbase of 3000 millimeters. At the same time, the vehicle adopts a large fastback design that combines sportiness and fashion elements.
In terms of powertrain configuration, YU7 will offer a dual-motor all-wheel-drive version with maximum power outputs of 220kW for the front motor and 288kW for the rear motor. The top speed can reach 253 kilometers per hour, equipped with CATL’s ternary lithium battery. The standard version model exposed this time is likely to be equipped only with a rear-wheel-drive motor. Its power core is expected to be a 288kW rear-mounted motor, while the battery may use lithium iron phosphate batteries supplied by BYD and CATL.
