If you noticed something different after updating the “Google Gemini” app on Android, it’s the icon getting a little bit bigger and brighter.
“Google Gemini” on the Play Store primarily serves as a homescreen shortcut, with the AI assistant powered entirely by the Google app. Version 1.0.741105040 (vs. 1.0.686588308) today tweaks the Gemini icon to be a bit more prominent.
The sparkle is comprised of a brighter blue in the bottom-left, while the purple has been moved to the top and right points. Google has also refreshed the Themed icon with that larger shape. Gemini’s icon update is not yet widely rolled out via Google Play.
The favicon on gemini.google.com hasn’t been updated, but you can find this new icon on the recently revamped gemini.google landing page that better details the “everyday AI assistant from Google.” There are pages detailing: Gemini Live, Image Generation, Deep Research, Personalization, Canvas, Apps, Gems, Long Context, and Gemini Advanced. It also discusses pricing and other Policy Guidelines.
