Apple reveals finalists for the 2024 App of the Year awards

Apple has even included apps for the Vision Pro this year

As always Apple is highlighting a bunch of the top apps that have been updated or came out throughout the year. This year, it includes nods to many apps, including the video app Kino and Assassins Creed Mirage for iPad. All the finalists are listed below;

iPhone App of the Year

Kino – An easy-to-use professional video app from the creators of Halide.
Runna – An app that offers custom-tailored workouts for all skill levels.
Tripsy – A travel app to help keep you organized.

iPhone Game of the Year

AFK Journey – A fantasy game with great battle mechanics.
The WereCleaner – A whimsical game about a werewolf janitor.
Zenless Zone Zero – An action role-playing game with console-level graphics.

iPad App of the Year

Bluey: Let’s Play – A family-friendly game features the hit TV character Bluey.
Moises – An app for practicing music with AI-powered tools.
Procreate Dreams – An animation app from Procreate.

iPad Game of the Year

Assassin’s Creed Mirage – A console-level action game that is now on a tablet.
Disney Speedstorm – An action-packed kart racing game with Disney characters.
Squad Busters – An online top-down action shooter game featuring characters from Supercell’s most popular titles.

Apple Arcade Game of the Year

Balatro+ – A super fun rogue-like card game based on poker.
Outlanders 2 – A charming town-building title with lots of challenges.
Sonic Dream Team – A 3D Sonic adventure platformer.

Mac App of the Year

Adobe Lightroom – A new age of Lightroom with lots of AI-enhanced features.
OmniFocus 4 – A task management app
Sharpr3D – A CAD modelling app for Mac

Mac Game of the Year

Frostpunk 2 – A high-tech steampunk city-building game.
Stray – A title about a cat in a mysterious future world.
Thank Goodness You’re Here! – A comedy game with a cute hand-drawn art style.

Apple Watch App of the Year

LookUp – An app to help improve your vocabulary.
Lumy – A quick reference app to help understand the sunrise and sunset.
Watch to 5K – A running companion app.

Apple Vision Pro App of the Year

JigSpace – a way to blow up 3D models to look at them in realistic sizes.
NBA – A futuristic way to watch sports.
What if..? An Immersive Story – Users get to live inside an interactive Marvel comic book story.

Apple Vision Pro Game of the Year

Loóna – A relaxing puzzle game to help users unwind.
Thrasher – A psychedelic rhythm game.
Vacation Simulator – E joy a quirky vacation filled with puzzle-like tasks.

Dropout – A comedy TV streaming app.
