Pokemon TCG Pocket gives away free Charizard and here’s how you get it

Like many of you, I’m hooked on Pokemon TCG Pocket, and with free cards it’s only going to get harder to resist its temptation.

The mobile game, which focuses on collecting and battling using the Pokemon Trading Card Game, has been racking up huge player numbers, and with a new event it’s not showing any signs of slowing down just yet.

The Fire Pokemon Mass Outbreak event will let players claim free Wonder Picks for a series of Fire-type Pokemon, meaning you can get some classic red-hued cards for nothing. Even if you do get a duplicate, it could come in handy when trading rolls around.

Here’s how it works.

Come and join The Daily Star on Bluesky, the social media site set up by ex-Twitter boss Jack Dorsey. It’s now the new go-to place for content after a mass exodus of the Elon Musk-owned Twitter/X.

Fear not, we’re not leaving Twitter/X, but we are jumping on the bandwagon. So come find our new account on https://bsky.app/profile/dailystar.co.uk, and see us social better than the rest.

You can also learn more about The Daily Star team in what Bluesky calls a “Starter Pack”.

Charizard ex and Motres ex aren’t included, but you can save up your Pack Points for each

How to get free cards in Mass Outbreak Event For those who haven’t played, Wonder Picks let you pick one of five cards at random to add to your collection. By giving them away for free you’re almost guaranteed one new card. I say almost, because Shop Tickets and Pack and Wonder Hourglasses are included, too.

The following can be found in the Mass Outbreak Wonder Pick lineup.

Charmander Charmeleon Ponyta Rapidash Vulpix Ninetales Magmar Heatmor Blaine (Trainer Card) Other Wonder Picks are rarer, and can offer the sought-after Arcanine EX, as well as cards like Moltres and Charizard.

Thankfully, each time you Wonder Pick you’ll get closer to earning additional rewards, although the objectives aren’t retroactive – so even if you have Arcanine EX, you’ll need to collect him again for the event.

Wonder Pick 3 times – Shop Ticket and Wonder Hourglass Wonder Pick 5 times – Three Shop Tickets and Three Wonder Hourglasses Collect 5 Fire-type cards – Three Shop Tickets and Two Wonder Hourglasses Collect 10 Fire-type cards – Five Shop Tickets and Three Wonder Hourglasses Collect 15 Fire-type cards – Seven Shop Tickets and Four Wonder Hourglasses Collect 1 Arcanine EX card – Shop Tickets and Wonder Hourglass Good luck, trainers!
